****Update @6:30pm: This afternoon after our story was released, Gabe’s Downtown released a facebook post regarding the Douglasville location. Unfortunately, due to unforseen construction delays, they won’t be able to open on Mothers Day as planned. They will be opening sometime during the week following. We’ll let you know when that opening date is.

Since October we have been keeping you up to date with the progress of a long awaited new restaurant for the Downtown area, one that will provide residents with a new Louisiana style Bistro with a more upscale flare. Back in April it was announced that Gabe’s Downtown, whose opening was pushed back some due to construction delays, was aiming for Mothers Day weekend to open. We are pleased to announce that This Sunday, Gabe’s Downtown Douglasville location will be open for Mothers Day for brunch. The location is at the corner of Church St and Bowden St next to the new conference center parking garage. They will be open from 11am to 6pm, but they are not taking reservations at this time. After Mothers Day, the hours will revert to their normal hours. This location as reported is their second location after their successful venture in Villa Rica to which also will be open for Sunday. Very excited to see another new place Douglasville residents are going to love, and another new place to make downtown a bigger destination for our citizens.
