Construction To Close Heavily Traveled Route

A popular and heavily traveled back road and side street is about to temporarily close due to construction. Signs located at both ends of Timber Ridge Dr between Chapel Hill Rd and Prestley Mill Rd indicate that the road will close for construction on June 22. Detour signs are placed and ready to go although currently covered. The Detour will take travelers on Prestley Mill Rd to Hospital Dr, South to Chapel Hill Rd and south again to meet up at Douglas Blvd. It appears at this time construction will be some pipe installations as well as the repaving of the road when complete. At this time, there is no write up for the construction, so if we receive any word of any additional work being done on this stretch we will bring it to you. Travelers who use this route as a popular side street and alternative to I-20 and Hospital Dr may want to start planning ahead. We’ll keep you posted on when construction is set to be complete.
