Earlier this week we spoke to the Main Street Director of Bowdon, Jan Lloyd about the restoration of the Gulf Station on E. College Street. She informed us that, “Mignon Wessinger owns the property now and her dad had a gas station there in the mid 1900’s. She is restoring for the beauty of it, but not for any other use.” Displayed inside is a complete replica of how the Gas Station used to look in the late 1940’s. The Gulf Station is actually listed in The National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. Next time you are in Bowdon plan a stop to look through the window of this historic gas station! See below for some pictures our friend, Will Watkins took this week.
