From our neighbors west in Villa Rica comes news of a new event hall scheduled to open soon for your party, weddings and business meeting needs. “The Venue” will open at 150 Stone Street, this is next to the Olive Tree in Villa Rica. Currently under construction, the facility is scheduled to open late summer or this fall. We got this release today from Kizzy Howell with Villa Rica Main Street telling us all the info about this new meeting space:

VILLA RICA (Ga.) – The Venue, a new special events hall, is soon to debut in downtown Villa Rica. Located at 150 Stone St., next to The Olive Tree Restaurant, the facility boasts over 4,000-square-foot of multipurpose meeting space. The Venue is still under construction, but is expected to open late summer or early fall 2015. The new tenants of the previously vacant space, Mike and Teresa Atsalis, are also the owners of the property. According to the couple, opening an event hall is part of their vision to help downtown Villa Rica grow and thrive.

“Not only do we want The Venue to be the ideal place to hosts events, we hope it will generate more jobs, consumer spending, and foot traffic downtown. Venue events requiring overnight stay will help put heads in beds and generate more tax revenue for the city,” said Mike Atsalis “As an added benefit, we plan to develop a referral partnership with local businesses that offer event related services to better serve our customers.”

Known for its sleek multi-pyramid structure, the venue’s property received a beautification award by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce in 2010. The owners aspire to further accentuate the building with a modern-elegant interior adorn with sparkling chandeliers. The 4,350-square-foot facility will offer flexible meeting space for a variety of events including weddings, parties, meetings, school events, corporate functions, and ticketed entertainment such as dinner theaters and other performing art events.

The Venue can comfortably seat 200 guests and can accommodate more individuals for theater-style and standing functions. Facility amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a sound system, free parking, staging, a portable bar, bridal suite, catering services, and a preferred vendor list. The owners of The Venue also take pride in providing exemplary customer service, flexibility, and customized event options—the venue’s easy accessibility to Interstate 20 is also a perk.

According to owner Teresa Atsalis “The inspiration behind naming the event hall ‘The Venue’ encompasses not only what the business is, but  positions the facility as the ideal spot for events through a strong, memorable name.”

As the heart of the community, downtown Villa Rica is a popular gathering place in the city and is the entertainment hub for several events. “There are people interested in what The Venue has to offer, and I believe the facility will provide more incentive for people to visit downtown Villa Rica,” said City Manager David A. Milliron.

“The City of Villa Rica is in current discussion to possibly recruit a nearby hotel for quality lodging accommodations. I’m confident that The Venue and the recruitment of a hotel and other desirable businesses will help bring more vitality to our downtown,” added Villa Rica Mayor J. Collins.
