Abundant Life Learners Program

Bethlehem Temple Church of a New Beginning, (which is located at 1800 Bankhead Hwy in Carrollton), has always had a reputation and passion for community outreach and service. From the beginning, we’ve had a drive to reach everyone with the hope of a new beginning in life. Through the years BTCNB has used that passion to conduct several outreach events and form a lasting bond with people throughout the community. This year, BTCNB is embarking on a new adventure with a mission everyone can get behind: kids. We know that the success of our community’s future rests in the success of our community’s kids. For this reason, BTCNB is proud to present Abundant Life Learners; a new, completely free after school program that will serve students ages 5-19, who live in Carroll County.

Our mission statement is based upon the words of Jesus in John 10:10:

“The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The mission of Abundant Life Learners is to equip every student with the tools they need to live a prosperous, productive, abundant life and reach their full potential. This means that our unique approach to after school care is more than just passing time until pick up.

Abundant Life Learners strives to create an intellectually diverse, creative, fun, supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, and achieve. We address the total student: intellectually, physically, and spiritually. Through our innovative “Activity Blocks”, students get help in the areas they need it most, and explore the areas they’re excited about. A.L.L. students will dive right into music, art, math, science, reading, creative and practical writing, design, and more. Students will also be taught practical life skills, like cooking and finance management. Every day we have a participation-optional prayer, and on Wednesdays we have a group bible study. Occasionally, we will have guest speakers/teachers give workshops, teaching everything from how to conduct an experiment using the scientific method, to how to sew a garment. Switching up what the students learn, while still keeping a strong focus on academia, means that A.L.L. kids will never be bored, and will always be excited to learn.

Students who attend A.L.L. will be encouraged to dream, too. We don’t believe that a student’s background should ever determine their future. So we help students dream BIG, and then we give them the tools they need to make those dreams a reality. College prep, career planning, social and life skills are always a priority at Abundant Life Learners! Our dedicated volunteers are here to help kids succeed in school and life. The confidence and support students receive at A.L.L. will be with them well into adulthood, and the invaluable skills they learn will ensure they are prepared reach their goals and have a successful life.

Perhaps the most amazing detail about Abundant Life Learners, is the fact that it is completely donor funded! Through your generous support, and from local businesses and individuals, this program is going to help so many students in our community.

So with the 2015-2016 school year rapidly approaching, Abundant Life Learners is excited to roll out the welcome mat to prospective students and donors. Join us on Saturday, August 1st for our open house and fundraiser. The theme is “Ice Cream Social” – prepare to devour delicious ice cream treats ranging

from $2-$3, with all benefits going to the A.L.L. after school program. The festivities begin at 3pm! All parents, students, community members and donors are welcome to attend!

At the open house, students and their families will get a tour of our facility, get an overview of the program and will have the opportunity to fill out a membership application. Those who would like to volunteer can also obtain a volunteer application during the open house.

Community members, leaders, individuals and business leaders who would like to donate to Abundant Life Learners are encouraged to attend as well. We do have sponsorship information available for those who are interested! Abundant Life Learners is completely donor funded and relies on your generous support to ensure Carroll County kids become successful in school and life.
