Update 8/17: As of Sunday 8/16, This Dollar General location is now open.
Back in May we reported that many of you had questions regarding a lot that was being cleared next to Beulah Baptist Church off Hwy 78 and Riley Rd in the Beulah Community. Turns out that the property was being prepped for a new Dollar General Store to be built on that property. Today, we went by to check the progress of the store and behold! The building was already nearing completion much to our surprise at the swiftness of the construction. The exterior was virtually done save for a few landscaping touch ups. The new curbs and sidewalks installed next to the store were complete. The only thing needed now was the interior shelving, product, and of course employees ready to man the new store. From the looks, the new store will open sometime in the next few weeks, certainly before Labor Day. While followers have commented on the amount of Dollar General and in some cases Family Dollar stores opening in close quarters of each other, this particular store will be opening in a small part of the county that could use a local grocery or general merchandise option. Currently the only stores in the community are two convenience stores. The only entrance to the store is on the Riley Rd side of the corner which could make for some traffic hassles.
