Mt. Zion Elementary Teacher Wins Southwire Project Gift

(Carrollton, Ga. ­ August 17, 2015) Mt. Zion Elementary Teacher Stephanie Sharpton was awarded $1500.00 as part of Southwire’s Project Gift 11th Annual Back to School giveaway on July 18th. As a part of the “My Favorite Teacher Is…” contest, Mrs. Sharpton was nominated by one of her former students. She will be allowed to use this money to purchase supplies for her first grade classroom.

Six-time STAR teacher, Alice taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition, speech and theater for over twenty years, part of which time she also served as Director of Admissions, Development, Public Relations, and Alumni at Oak Mountain Academy. She is a board member of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and enjoys playing flute with the Carroll Community Wind Ensemble.
