Update 9/24: From a tip and from checking it out ourselves, The Citgo in Fairplay will be reopening as Chevron. Thanks to the tipsters that emailed us!
Residents in Fairplay are about to have another option in fuel at a familiar source. A few years ago, the Citgo located on Hwy 166 just past Fairplay Park closed. Recently the other options at the intersection of Post Road and Hwy. 166 have also shut down, leaving Fairplay residents only the Marathon several miles away to the west and the Crossroads Store at 166 and Hwy. 5. Work has been ongoing to reopen the Citgo most of the summer. We went by today to check out progress and found that the store is almost ready but empty, waiting on shelves and merchandise. We’ll let you know when this neighborhood store opens back up to the public.
