Economic Development Outline from Candidate for Mt Zion City Council Post One

I have spent the the past couple of weeks since qualifying for the upcoming election building a basic economic development plan for the City of Mt Zion in an effort to secure it’s economic future and ensure that growth can come to our community without the introduction of heavy industry and without bring big box, non-community retailers to the area.

What I propose instead is an Agrarian expansion of our area that focuses on helping bring boutique style farm related businesses to Mt Zion by promoting the unoccupied farm lands in our city to help feed and sustain the culinary markets in Atlanta and surrounding areas which will not only generate increased property tax income but also encourages a climate where small support businesses can be created and thrive.

This is by no means the only avenue that Mt Zion can take to ensure it’s economic place within Carroll County and within the Great State of Georgia, but it is one of the few ideas that can be easily enacted by using less than 10% of the SPLOST funding that comes to our city, it is the only economic development plan that involves a scholarship program for investing in our communities youth, it is the only economic development plan that involves the community in its plans of growth, and it is the only economic development plan put forth by any candidate running for any seat with Mt Zions City Government.

If there are more competitive plans that don’t involve heavy industrialization of our town or the introduction of big box retailers that sap monies from our community instead of bringing money to our community, I’m more than happy to discuss them, explore them, and if they are agreeable to the citizens of the City of My Zion, I will also support them.

Thank you and Best Regards,
