Groundbreaking Ceremony of the North College & Career Academy

Mayor J. Collins and Villa Rica City Council members joined the Carroll County School System and other dignitaries on Monday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the North College & Career Academy to be located next to Villa Rica High School. Construction of the 33,423 sq. ft. complex will allow Villa Rica and Temple students to attend career pathway programs without having to be transported to the Carrollton College and Career Academy site. The project is designed in two phases: Phase 1 will be a 16,204 sq. ft. facility designed to house four career pathway program areas and Phase 2 will include an additional 17,219 sq. ft. to house four additional career pathway program areas. Phase 1 is scheduled to open in August 2016. Joining Mayor Collins for today’s festivities were Villa Rica Mayor Pro Tem Verland Best and Council Members Shirley Marchman and Leslie McPherson.
