Solid Rock Serves Central Elementary School

(Carrollton, Ga. October 13, 2015) On Sunday, October 11, sixty youth from First Methodist Church of Carrollton descended on Central Elementary School for a time of service in the community. Ryan Shostak, youth minister of Carrollton First Methodist Church, worked closely with school leadership to identify areas where the youth could serve the community by helping with projects at the school.

The students painted, cleaned out flower beds, trimmed hedges, scrubbed walls, and placed pine straw around shrubs. The purpose of the Solid Rock Serves campaign is to give our students opportunities to serve locally in missionminded projects. Mr. Childers, principal of CES, stated, “Helping students connect with the larger community through service projects builds good citizens and allows our school to receive benefits we otherwise would not obtain.”

This photo shows a portion of the students who turned out for this Solid Rock Serves event.
