From the desk of Superintendent David Hicks:

Congratulations to our awesome BMS softball team on winning the league championship. Way to go girls! Our BMS football team won their play-off game against Heard this week and will play in the championship game Thursday. Additionally, our boys and girls golf team finished their season 2nd and 3rd respectively. Finally, last week, our BMS boys and girls cross country teams finished 1st and 2nd respectively with 1st place individual finishes from Carl Spivey and Chloe Smith.

Our talented high school varsity volleyball team advanced to state play and will take on Holy Innocents Tuesday. JV volleyball finished the season with a strong 15-10 record. Additionally, our Lady Blue Devil varsity softball team swept Rabun County to advance to the 2nd round of state and will play at Seminole County Wednesday. Our JV softball team finished the year with a strong 10-4 record. JV football also finished up their season this week with a very impressive 7 win, 0 loss record!

On Tuesday, the GFWC Bremen Junior Woman’s Club is hosting a “Meet the Candidates” event at The Hamilton-McPherson Fine Arts Center at 6:30. Additionally, I will very briefly share ESPLOST information at the beginning. As always, if anyone wants additional information about ESPLOST that night or any other time, I’m happy to talk further about it.

As a reminder, the annual football cheerleaders “Devil Diva Night” is Thursday at 6:00. For more information, click here.

We have reached $3,961 of our $4,500 goal for the JES Swing Set. This week, we began construction and look forward to the new playground being complete in the very near future. We have so many generous people in our schools and community. Click here to see the list of contributors thus far for this project.
