The Central-Carroll Marching Pride Earns Top Honors

(Carrollton, Ga. – October 19, 2015) The Central-Carroll Marching Pride earned top honors this past weekend at the Battle on the Border Marching Band Contest in Valdosta, Georgia. In Preliminary Competition, the Pride earned all Superior Ratings and Best in Class 5A in Drumline, Color Guard, and Overall Band. They were also the top scoring band of the Preliminary Competition with a score of 97.28, making them the #1 seed going into the Finals Competition.

In the Finals Competition the Marching Pride competed against bands from Georgia, Alabama and Florida. The Marching Pride earned the High Music, High Visual and High Effect Awards and the Overall Grand Championship, raising their final score to 99.415 out of possible 100.

Six-time STAR teacher, Alice taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition, speech and theater for over twenty years, part of which time she also served as Director of Admissions, Development, Public Relations, and Alumni at Oak Mountain Academy.
