Carroll County School Bus Safety Poster Contest Winners

(Carrollton, Ga. – October 28, 2015) Two Carroll County School students recently placed in the Georgia School Transportation Bus Safety poster competition. Zachery Campbell (poster pictured on the left) of Bay Springs Middle School won first place in the Division IV category and received $100. Zachery is in 7th grade and his art teacher is Ms. Darlene Stobaugh. Salem Kempf (poster pictured on the right) of Roopville Elementary School won second place in the Division II category and received $75. Salem is in 5th grade and his teacher is Ms. Ashley Williams. Zachery and Salem will have their winning posters submitted to compete at the national level.

The 2015 poster contest theme is “Bully Free Zone!”. This project, supported by the Georgia Department of Education, helps students learn about school bus safety and reminds motorists of the important role they play in obeying the law, in stopping for Georgia’s school buses and protecting students as they board and exit.

Six-time STAR teacher, Alice taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition, speech and theater for over twenty years, part of which time she also served as Director of Admissions, Development, Public Relations, and Alumni at Oak Mountain Academy. She is a board member of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and enjoys playing flute with the Carroll Community Wind Ensemble.
