Historic Baptismal

From The City of Villa Rica :

Help from the public is sought as information is compiled about a historic baptismal on Spring Street between South Carroll Road and Thomas Dorsey Drive in Villa Rica. Neighbors say the baptismal was fed by a natural spring and was possibly built and used by the historically African-American churches along Thomas Dorsey Drive. The baptismal could be some 100 years old though neighbors say the natural spring ceased to flow on a regular basis when Interstate 20 was constructed. Anyone with records, photographs, old newspaper articles or other documents concerning the baptismal, or anyone with a personal recollection about the baptismal, is urged to contact Janet Hyde at [email protected] or 678-840-1213.
