Central High School Coach Named 2016 5AAA Athletic Director of the Year

(Carrollton, Ga. – January 27, 2016) Central High School Head Baseball Coach Wes Shiver has been named the 2016 Region 5AAA Athletic Director of the Year. Coach Shiver is in his 5th year as a Central High School physical education teacher and baseball coach. Under his leadership the baseball team to the playoffs three out of four years, been to the Sweet 16 twice and the Elite 8 once. Central High School Principal Mr. Jared Griffis said, “The Central Lion family is lucky to have a teacher and man like Wes Shiver working with our students. Wes certainly deserves this great honor.” Wes Shiver has been the Athletic Director for the past three years. He is married and has two daughters.

Alice Ridley-Teal
Six-time STAR teacher, Alice taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition, speech and theater for over twenty years, part of which time she also served as Director of Admissions, Development, Public Relations, and Alumni at Oak Mountain Academy. She is the managing partner of Ridley-Teal Properties and content editor for the City Menus. She is a board member of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and enjoys playing flute with the Carroll Community Wind Ensemble.
