(Carrollton, Ga. February 3, 2016) Ithica Elementary School teachers, Beth Brewer, Jenny Wilkie, Teri Donaldson, Courtney Chastain, and Marcella Correa, were awarded a Carroll EMC Bright Ideas Grant to fund innovative and creative educational projects for their classrooms. Mrs. Chastain received the grant to purchase seven chrome books which helped her reach the goal of one to one technology in her classroom. Mrs. Wilkie received the grant to provide her students with solar ovens and materials to construct mini houses, which will help them to have a better understanding of heat and insulation. Ms. Correa is using the grant to help with the sound system during musical performances. Mrs. Brewer received the grant to purchase items for a “Makerspace”. Mrs. Donaldson is using her grant to purchase technology for her students to use in class.
