Installation began today on new scoreboards at Gold Dust Park, just in time for the upcoming baseball and softball season. The Villa Rica City Council in December 2015 approved the purchase of four baseball/softball scoreboards from Electro-Mech Scoreboard Company. Cost for the project is $20,640 and includes the equipment, installation and a five-year maintenance agreement.
Back in December, the Villa Rica Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department also installed a new basketball scoreboard in the former Villa Rica Elementary School gymnasium, which is covered by the new maintenance agreement.
