(Carrollton, Ga. March 3, 2016) Sharp Creek Elementary believes that it is important to provide community service opportunities to students in order to empower them with responsibility, engage their compassion, and offer them the chance to affect the lives of others. Each month, the SCES Jr. Beta Club engages in projects to help the community. In February, the Jr. Beta Club visited the Stewart House in Carrollton to deliver handmade cards to the residents. During the visit, residents shared stories about their past. The students and residents sang a song together and played BINGO. A worker shared the history of the Stewart House and students toured the facility. It was a great day that helped students recognize the need for community service projects. The Jr. Beta Club at Sharp Creek is sponsored by Katelynn Cooper and assisted by counselor Kelley Law.
