It looks like the redevelopment of the old Shell station on Hwy. 5 at I-20 is coming along nicely. The Shell is no more, the tanks have been uprooted and removed, and construction has begun to repurpose the building into several shops. Over the Easter weekend, we learned what one of the shops is slated to be. A few weeks ago we reported on some remodels and openings coming down the pike. One of them was Little Caesars Pizza, but at the time we didn’t know where they were trying to locate. Last week, Little Caesars themselves ended the mystery. A sign has been placed on the former Shell station pylon sign indicating that they will be one of the new shops when construction there is complete. This will be Little Caesars first Douglasville location but not their first one in Douglas County and not their first time in the city. Long-time residents remember when Grand Slam Pizza on Fairburn Road used to be Little Caesars. Construction on the building itself seems to be in the early stages, so the timeline for opening might be a little long. We’ll keep an eye on construction and let you know when an opening is near.
