The Carrollton Menu learned today of changes coming to a popular intersection just south of Bremen. The Quick Response Construction Plans show that the intersection of US 27/SR 1 and Holly Springs Road/Kierbow Road just south of Bremen will be redesigned to make it safer. The current intersection will be blocked off as-is with a concrete median, allowing for only right turns off the side roads. A 310’ U-turn lane will be built on the southbound lanes of US 27 going downhill from the current intersection and lining up with the south entrance of the BP gas station. The plans also call for a 310’ U-turn lane to be built on the northbound lanes of US 27 in front of the Exxon gas station. No word as to when construction will begin, but equipment seems to have already been delivered to an empty lot on Keirbow Road.
