Central High School Teacher Receives American History Grant

American History Grant

(Carrollton, Ga. ­ April 21, 2016) Central High School American History and World Literature teacher Ms. Jennifer Harris is the recipient of a Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History summer seminar grant. Jennifer has been invited to participate in the Lewis and Clark: An America Epic seminar at the University of Montana this July. Mr. Richard Gilder and Mr. Lewis E. Lehrman founded the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in 1994. The nonprofit organization is devoted to the improvement of history education. The Institute works closely with the College Board in preparation of study guides for Advanced Placement and SAT U.S. History testing. In addition, the Institute has partnered with the Google Cultural Institute for online exhibitions of Gilder Lehrman Institute materials. Ms. Harris holds dual teaching certificates in English and Social Studies and is in her third year as a member of the Central High School faculty.
