(Carrollton, Ga. April 28, 2016) The boys track team were named back to back Region 5AA Champions and they had an outstanding performance. The Temple Track team defeated Bremen High School 199135 to capture the region crown. The following students will compete at Sectionals: Markys Agan, Keion Altman, Cartez Echols, Daimar Ivey, Dominique Kimball, Devin Lord, Marco Lorente, Edgar Martinez, Briahous McPherson, Hunter Sanek, Carter Shell, Courtney Stroud, JT Thornton, DJ Winters, and Treon Wright.
The Temple High School girls track team placed 2nd at the Region 5AA track meet. The following students will compete at Sectionals: Courtney Caldwell, Tori Chivers, Tamia Farmer, Jamonia Lowe, Khadijah Montgomery and Naomi Peeples. Alternates for the girls will be Mackenzie Holt, Tori Gossett and Halie Harris.
This year Courtney Caldwell, Khadijah Montgomery, Victoria Chivers, and Tamia Farmer set new school records for the girls track team. Reggie Washington, Ben Penny, Artemis Patterson, and Robert Reece set school records for the boys track team. The Temple High School Track coaches are Cory Shelnutt and Ed Silva.
