We got this tip a week or so ago from Tami, our always reliable tipster. A new Caribbean bar and grill will be opening soon inside the old Mrs. Winner’s Chicken on Fairburn Road near Hospital Drive. The current building was vacated when the entire Mrs. Winner’s chain went under a few years ago. That chain is seeing a revival and slowly reopening stores around Atlanta and in North Carolina. Currently, there is an emissions place operating out of the side of the building. This is the emissions place that had a freestanding location in the parking lot of the old Warehouse Groceries (throwback to way-back Douglasville!) and was displaced for the new Highway 92 relocation project. From what we could see, there is work being done inside the building, so we can expect an opening within the next few weeks. We’ll keep you posted when we find out more like a name and a menu.
