Christi McLendon Named Principal of Providence Elementary School

(Carrollton, Georgia – May 3, 2016) Mrs. Christi McLendon was named Principal of Providence Elementary School at the April 21, 2016, Carroll County Board of Education board meeting. Mrs. McLendon will be replacing Dr. Terie Phillips who is retiring.

Mrs. McLendon began her career in education with the Douglas County School System in 1993. She worked as an elementary teacher in Douglas County until 2012. In 2012, Mrs. McLendon was hired at Bill Arp Elementary where she served as an Assistant Principal.

Mrs. McLendon’s educational credentials include her Bachelor of Science in Early Childcare from Georgia Southwestern State University, Gifted Certification from M­RESA and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. McLendon will soon be graduating from Berry College with a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.

Superintendent Scott Cowart shared that Mrs. McLendon’s experience at the elementary level and passion for excellence made her an obvious choice for the principalship at Providence. “Mrs. Mclendon’s excitement for helping students and teachers is contagious. Her energy and knowledge of elementary education will help to continue the success of Providence Elementary School.”

Mrs. McLendon and her husband Sammy have 3 children, Taylor (19), Mason(15), and Cade (14).
