A well-known bank whose home was on Chapel Hill Road has moved to a bigger, nicer space on Hospital Drive. Bank of the Ozarks, which was in the shopping plaza with Bagel Meister and Starbucks on Chapel Hill Road and Timber Ridge Drive, recently acquired the big bank building where Community and Southern Bank had their operations center at Hospital Drive and Prestley Mill Road. C&S Bank had downsized their operations out of that building in the last few years, going from full banking center with tellers to just an operations center with an outdoor ATM machine only. The move gives space to a bank that was operating out of a packed shopping center with limited space. Now it has its own, individual location with plenty of room for parking and also easier access for drivers. We’ll keep an eye out for what retailer or business moves into the old Bank of the Ozarks space on Chapel Hill Road.
