Douglasville, GA) – Main Street Douglasville will host the first Food Truck Mondays event starting Monday, July 11 from 12-2pm in downtown Douglasville. More than 15 different food truck vendors will be participating in this year’s event. Along with favorites such as Rio’s Italian Ice to Cousins Maine Lobster, as seen on Shark Tank, to Gotta Have It Catering serving Cuban and Jerk BBQ, music and other entertainment will be provided on O’Neal Plaza. July 11, July 18, July 25 and August 1 — from 12-2pm. All other activities will take place on O’Neal Plaza.

Please note the location change. We have moved the Food Truck Mondays location! Trucks will now be parked in the parking lot next to the Old Douglasville Police Precinct (where The Founder was filmed).

“We are always looking for opportunities to bring additional foot traffic to our downtown,” said Main Street Manager April McKown. “Based on the tremendous amount of feedback we have received, these events will introduce our downtown to residents that are new to the community and to those that have been here for many years but have not ventured beyond the mall area. Our goal is to make sure they continue to visit our downtown enjoying our well established businesses that continue help make our downtown a vibrant community.”

Food Truck events have become increasingly popular in the metro Atlanta area. Several communities throughout the region host food truck events including Stockbridge, Suwanee, Sugar Hill, Hiram, Stone Mountain, Alpharetta, Atlanta, Clarkston and Dunwoody. “As a Main Street community, it is our responsibility to promote and market our downtown, along with our downtown businesses,” said McKown. “With this event, we are looking at a positive return on the number of people that will continue to visit our community after witnessing the friendliness and charm of our downtown. We are asking everyone to keep a look out on our Facebook page, as more trending events will be taking place in downtown Douglasville in the near future.”
