This past weekend a discount bakery chain in Carrollton changed its name. Flowers Foods Discount Bakery, located at 500 Newnan Road Suite A, near the intersection with Old Newnan Road, has changed its name to TastyKake Bakery Outlet. While the name is changing, the products being sold inside are not. The TastyKake name and products are owned by Flowers Foods. Speaking with an employee at the store, we learned that the decision to change the name apparently came with the hope that it would be more recognizable than the former name of Flowers Foods. This change will also take place at other discount bakery stores within the chain throughout the southeast.
