Press Release from the City of Carrollton, GA

The Georgia Department of Transportation performs periodic inspections on all roadway bridges in the state of Georgia.  They have discovered a beam on the Croft Street Bridge that is beginning to fail and needs to be replaced.  The City of Carrollton is closing the bridge until further analysis can be performed and proper repairs accomplished.  Because this involves both Georgia DOT and the railroad, work on the bridge requires significant coordination and permitting.  The process is expected to take several months.

For questions concerning this project please call Tommy J. Holland, P.E., Carrollton City Engineer, at (770)830-2000.
