Elm Street Elementary School is celebrating its 60th year in 2016 and is planning an event to honor the school’s history and alumni.

Former and current students, teachers, supporters – or anyone who is part of the extended “Elm Street family” – is welcome to participate and is encouraged to send a memory to the celebration’s organizers.

The school will hold a Community and Alumni Celebration on Thursday, September 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Newnan school.

“Everyone is invited,” said Principal Christi Hildebrand. “There will be a reception in celebration of those who attended Elm Street, dedicated part of their career as part of our school family, or supported our school as community members.”

Elm Street teacher and long-time veteran faculty member Amy Dawson is coordinating the event. Anyone who would like to share a memory, photo, or other special memento for the occasion can reach her at [email protected], Principal Hildebrand at [email protected], or call the school at 770-254-2865.
