Carroll County Names New Assistant Superintendent of Finance

During the Monday, October 17, 2016 board meeting, The Carroll County Board of Education approved Delene Strickland as the new Assistant Superintendent of Finance. Mrs. Strickland earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, Degrees from the University of West Georgia.

Coming from a diverse financial background will help Mrs. Strickland supervise all financial components of the school system. Additionally, she will serve as the principal advisor to the Carroll County School System on all matters related to financial management, financial control, and accounting. Prior to joining Carroll County Schools, Mrs. Strickland worked with the Bank of the Ozarks, formally known as Community Southern Bank, as the internal Audit Manager. From 2001-2010, Mrs. Strickland started as a Staff Accountant with two promotions to a Controller and then again to an Internal Audit Manager at First National Bank of Georgia, acquired by Community & Southern Bank.

Mrs. Strickland stated, “I looking forward to applying my business experience to the financial operations of the Carroll County School System. I’m excited to join a team that is focused on continuous improvement and providing a high quality education experience to students.”

Superintendent Scott K. Cowart stated, “We are delighted to have someone with Mrs. Strickland’s knowledge and experience joining our school system. She brings a variety of skills to our organization that will help us continue our march to be premier. Additionally, she is a part of our community and will be invested in the work our schools are doing for students.”

Delene Strickland is married to Josh Strickland and has two children, Trevor (13) and Kendall (10).
