Daphine Wynne (pictured in the center), of Temple Elementary School, was named Carroll County School System Teacher of the Year at the Board Meeting on Thursday, October 20, 2016.
Mrs. Wynne has been with the Carroll County School System for 18 years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1985 from Atlanta Christian College. She also received her Masters in Special Education in 1988 at West Georgia College.
Mrs. Wynne’s Teacher of the Year application will now be sent to the State Department of Education where she will compete for the 2018 Georgia Teacher of the Year. The state winner will be selected Spring 2018.

School was named first runner-up and Mrs. Tara Ferguson (pictured to the right), of Sharp Creek Elementary School was named second runner-up for System Teacher of the Year.
Superintendent Scott K. Cowart said, “We are lucky to have premier teachers in Carroll County and those recognized tonight are an example of why we have great community based schools. These teachers dedicate their professional career to helping all of their students succeed everyday.”
