The Villa Rica Police Department wishes to thank the Golden City Cruisers Car Club for its generous $7,000 donation to the agency’s annual “Shop with A Cop” program. Club President Danny Davis presented a check to Captain Keith Shaddix prior to Tuesday night’s Town Hall Meeting by the City Council.

Villa Rica Police annually team up to give many local children a happy Christmas by taking them to “Shop with a Cop.” Originating in the 1990s, the “Shop with a Cop” program lets local, in need children go shopping for Christmas presents with a local police officer on a budgeted amount of money. Villa Rica Police raised over $11,000 last year and shopped with about 110 youth who each got to spend $100.

The agency wants to increase both the number of children and the amount they can spend this year and will be collecting donations right up until a few days before Christmas. For more information or to make a financial contribution, please contact Capt. Shaddix at (678) 785-1100. Mr. Davis and Cap. Shaddix were joined by other members of the car club and police department for Tuesday’s night donation. We Are VR!
