For shoppers in the Tallapoosa area, finding a boutique clothing
store can be quite a challenge. Local resident Taylor Jarrell answered that
challenge by working to establish her own store, The Peach Pistol Boutique,
which has become a diamond in the rough for many shoppers in rural Haralson
    County.

“I’ve always been a shopper, and loved boutiques and clothing
stores,” says Jarrell. “Before we opened, there was not anything around here as
    far as boutique clothing stores.”

Jarrell took to the internet and reached out to family and friends
to help get her business going.

“One night, I decided to make a Facebook page and ask my friends
if they knew of a building in Tallapoosa where I could open a boutique,” says
Jarrell. “Before long I had found a location and opened up.”

The Peach Pistol’s first location opened on Head Avenue. The store
later moved across the street to a larger location at the corner of West
Alabama and Odessa Streets in October 2016. Jarrell says she added a little
    handmade ingenuity to her store.

“Everything from the light fixtures to the clothing racks is
handmade,” says Jarrell. “We make all of our décor and displays ourselves.”

Jarrell manages to balance owning the store with her studies as a
full-time student at the University of West Georgia, where she is pursuing
degrees in early childhood education and biology.

“When I’m not in class or studying, I’m always at the store,” says
    Jarrell.

The Peach Pistol offers something for everyone and carries women’s
    clothing of all sizes.

“Many boutiques only carry certain sizes of clothing, but we offer
everything from plus sizes down to children’s clothing and everything in
    between,” says Jarrell.

The boutique carries name-brand clothing such as Umgee, Andree,
Peach Love California, and Lauren James, but the selection is not limited to
    women’s clothing items.

“We have men’s clothing and hats from Old South and Straight Up
Southern, as well as Fripp and Folley,” says Jarrell.

In addition to clothing items, The Peach Pistol offers jewelry,
    shoes, candles, and bath bombs.

“We have a variety of jewelry brands, including Lola B, which is
handmade by Christin Wright, who also works here,” says Jarrell. “We also have
Goodworks jewelry, which donates 25 percent of each sale to charity, as well as
    Erimish bracelets.”

Jarrell also notes that The Peach Pistol offers items at a much
more affordable price than other boutiques.

“Most of our items range from 20 to 40 dollars, which is pretty
cheap for boutique-style clothing,” says Jarrell. “We invite everyone to come
in and have a look at our selection.”

The Peach Pistol Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10
a.m. to 6 p.m. To learn more, visit The Peach Pistol Boutique Facebook page or
