Construction is underway on a new fast-food restaurant in Temple. Construction crews from Ganaway Contracting are installing foundations for Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits.

“Right now, we’ve got some of the initial infrastructure in place,” said Superintendent Rusty Scott. “We have installed the storm sewers, and the foundation is in. We will soon begin the building process.”

Scott said the Georgia Department of Transportation is preparing to install a deceleration lane off Highway 113 in front of the restaurant to accommodate patrons to the restaurant and shopping center located on West Perennial Drive.

Construction on the new restaurant is expected to be completed in mid-April, according to Scott.

“I helped build the Bojangles in Villa Rica, and they usually go up pretty quickly,” he said. “We are hoping to finish up around mid-April, as long as the weather doesn’t slow us down any.”

Temple City Council Member Todd Rothwell said the new restaurant is a welcome addition to Temple. “We are very excited to have Bojangles moving into Temple,” said Rothwell. “New construction is always nice to see.”

Rothwell noted that he is eager for the city to experience new growth in local business.

“We have lots of available space which is primed and ready for growth, from restaurant, retail, to hotels,” said Rothwell. “Speaking for myself, I am most excited for the creation of new jobs in the city, and having a new choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.”

Bojangles’ is a Southern-inspired, fast-food chain known for Cajun fried chicken and signature sides. An opening date for the restaurant has not yet been determined.
