DCEDA to host Winter Job Fair at Mercer University

**UPDATE: Due to overwhelming response to the Winter Job Fair, the DCEDA is requesting that individuals who plan to attend the job fair to pre-register (if possible) in order to help expedite the process!

On Wednesday, February 22 the Douglas County Economic Development Authority will host a job fair at the Douglas campus of Mercer University from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, this isn’t your typical job fair.

Because some companies will be doing interviews on site, each company will be located in a classroom for a more one-on-one experience. “Our goal is to assist our current businesses with filling a variety of positions,” explained DCEDA Project Manager Breezy Straton.

All companies are located in Douglas County and have immediate job openings, which range from warehouse to manufacturing to administrative. Companies that will be attending include Medline, Bojangles, Gordon Food Service, Douglas County Water Sewer Authority, Coloplast, and J.W. Pepper.

Attendees at the job fair should bring a resume or work history. If they don’t have either, they are in luck. The Atlanta Regional Commission’s Mobile Resource Career Center will be stationed outside to offer support. Featuring a private interview area and a 13-station, state-of-the-art computer lab, attendees will have the opportunity to create a resume and apply online. “The goal of this job fair is to recruit a variety of companies from diverse industries and engage more with job seekers,” commented Straton.

The Douglas campus of Mercer University is located at 975 Blairs Bridge Road, across the street from the AutoNation Toyota dealership in Lithia Springs.
