Remodeling will soon be underway for Chick-fil-A in Newnan. The restaurant’s existing building will be closed beginning on March 24 in order to allow for remodeling.
Like many Chick-fil-A restaurants, the location was originally built as a “Dwarf House.” Burgess said the building will be changed from a dwarf house into “Truett’s Chick-fil-A.”
“Chick-fil-A did a lot of market research, and people seem to like Truett’s Chick-fil-A,” said Burgess. “While the dwarf house is somewhat iconic for our restaurant, we want to take steps to do what’s best for our customers.”
Burgess reassured Chick-fil-A fans that the restaurant will remain open and continue serving customers with a drive-thru setting.
“We will remain open during the remodel so we can continue serving customers and not have to shut down the location completely,” said Randy Burgess, restaurant operator. “I believe this is the first time Chick-fil-A has done something like this.”
Burgess said the restaurant will use shipping containers that have been modified for food service. The location will serve basic menu items throughout the duration of the remodeling project.
“It will be the same employees running the drive-thru incubator that have been working at this location,” said Burgess. “Customers don’t have to worry about seeing any new faces. They can still enjoy Chick-fil-A as we will have our basic menu items available like sandwiches, chicken biscuits, and things like that.”
Burgess said the store is aiming for a reopening date in late summer.
“We’re very excited about this process—we don’t look at it as a remodel, but as a refresh of our location,” said Burgess. “The name and restaurant style is changing a bit, but our food, service and everything else will remain the same.”
