The Northgate High School Chamber Chorus performed under the gold dome of the state capitol in Atlanta on March 21.
Choral members – under the direction of Julia Lotti – sang on the steps of the north wing of the capitol rotunda, at the invitation from the office of Representative Ron Stephens.
The students performed a variety of music including “Exaudi Laudate”, “Hope Is The Breath of Music”, “Fa Una Canzona”, “Stars, I Shall Find”, “Agnus Dei”, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”, and “Taylor, The Latte Boy”, featuring Harley Rainwater as the soloist. The group was accompanied by the Steve Shivers.
Several Senators, Representatives and visitors came to listen, and “we were very honored that Coweta Representative Lynn Smith was in the audience,” said Lotti.
The NGHS Chamber Chorus is made up of 10th, 11th and 12th grade girls, and is the most advanced women’s chorus at Northgate.
