HHGregg Going Out of Business

Looks like another one bites the dust.

As the popularity of online shopping spreads, the threat to traditional retailers continues to grow. In the latest string of bankruptcy filings and store closures, retailer HHGregg has unwillingly joined the club.

The Indianapolis-based retailer of appliances, electronics, and furniture will liquidate their assets and close more than 200 stores after failed attempts to find a buyer. Founded on April 15, 1955 by Henry Harold Gregg and wife Fansy, the retailer operated over 200 stores in 20 states, including Georgia.

Sales of discounted merchandise began today at the Douglasville store located at 6967 Concourse Pkwy. According to a sales associate, the location will most likely close in “approximately six to eight weeks”.
