University of West Georgia Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Archaeological Laboratory Annual Open House

Kick-off Georgia Archaeology Month with the Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Archaeology Lab! Our doors will open to the public Saturday April 29th, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m, for tours of our newly expanded facility.

Visitors will be able to interact with professional archaeologists, public historian, and Waring staff to learn about archaeology and the important work we do. Guests can also watch how stone tools are made, use an ancient spear thrower, bring artifacts for identification, and listen to our guest speaker discuss Civil War uniforms among other activities.

Admission and food is free. The Waring Lab is located on the University of West Georgia campus.Use the West Campus Entrance and take the first left onto Plant Op Drive to reach the lab. Contact the Waring Lab at 678-839-6303 for more information
