(Carrollton, Ga. – April 21, 2017) The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) recognized Ithica Elementary School as a Model Program RAMP school.

Brad Corbett, Principal of Ithica Elementary stated, “We are honored that our school has become recognized as an ASCA Model Program. Mrs. Landman, our school counselor, has worked hard to develop and implement a comprehensive counseling program at IES. We are proud of her and the work she does everyday with our students.”

According to the ASCA, the RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment. This year 104 schools from 27 states will receive this designation.

“Being recognized as an ASCA Model Program AMP school shows the strong commitment administrators, teachers and staff at Ithica have to ensuring every student has the opportunity to excel,” said Dr. Dana Harman, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Ithica Elementary will be among the RAMP schools honored at a recognition ceremony at ASCA’s annual conference in Denver, Colorado on Monday, July 10, 2017, for making an exemplary commitment to comprehensive school counseling programs.
“This year’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession,” said Jill Cook, ASCA assistant director.

“These schools used data to drive their program development and implementation so all students can achieve success. RAMP designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to strive for excellence.”
