Quintard Mall will soon see Payless Shoe Source close their location between Rainbow and Hallmark in the Goody’s wing of the mall. Unfortunately bankruptcy is forcing up to 500 Payless Shoe Source locations to close all around the country. You are more than welcome to take advantage of the 20%-40% off in savings at Payless Shoes.

Urban Sparrow Emporium has closed at Quintard Mall, however their Facebook page remains pretty active.

Now with some positive news out of Quintard Mall, JCPenny will remain OPEN! Time-Out Arcade recently just installed a game card machine that lets you store value on the card for game play. This is an incredible concept as it makes counting tickets all electronic.

In other news for the Anniston Downtown Area, a new development is in the works at 10th Street and Qunitard Avenue. Construction documents report to us that a few new restaurants are looking at this property along with 3 retail chains. Details on this are pending.

According to a statement from Wendy’s off Leon Smith Pwy near I-20 in Oxford, the store will hopefully be rebuilt in the future. As you might recall, Wendy’s in Oxford suffered major damage from a fire earlier this year. A new Popeye’s is coming to 10 Jimmy Hinton Drive according to construction records, which is near the Residence Inn.

The Oxford Commons development sits dormant due to financial issues off Leon Smith Parkway. Jo-Ann Fabrics and Eyemart Express are no longer coming to the shopping center. You can read the full story from Zach at the Anniston Star by clicking here.

Breathtaking views await you at Choccolocco Park just off Leon Smith Parkway near Boiling Springs Rd. This is a new sports complex that is now open in the City of Oxford! Below we spotted some grading taking place for an unknown project directly across the street from Choccolocco Park.
