Carrollton, GA- May 12, 2017) Carroll County Schools recognized its May 2017 Apple Award Winner at the board meeting on May 11, 2017. Receiving the award for Teacher Employee of the Month was Ms. Lorena Cook, Second Grade Teacher at Central Elementary School.
Ms. Cook was nominated by several colleagues stating she is an excellent teacher, providing superior academic instruction balanced with nurturing support in the classroom. She supplements her instruction with hands-on activities and applies content to real life. She enjoys her students and consistently goes the extra mile to ensure they are successful.
She is a wonderful teacher and very deserving of this award. Ms. Cook was honored with the system Apple Award plaque, a goody bag and a plant from Mountain Oak Florist, a business partner for Carroll County Schools.
