The Heard County Chamber of Commerce is excited to continue the tradition of SummerFest on the square in downtown Franklin, Georgia, on Saturday, July 1st. Folks, young and old, are invited to come out and enjoy great food, good music, and some fantastic fireworks. Free Admission.
This family-friendly festival will provide a wide array of foods that will surely tantalize your taste buds. Funnel cakes, barbecue, ice cream, snow cones, hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey legs, donuts, and hot buttered corn on the cob are some of the many foods that will be available during the festival.
Walker Cadillac Buick GMC of Carrollton is this year’s top Event Sponsor, and they will offer several vehicles on display for your viewing pleasure.
The square in beautiful downtown Franklin, Georgia, will be sizzling as it highlights our local area talent. Hunter Flanagan, returning to SummerFest after a mini tour performing from Daytona all the way to Key West, will perform at 5:30 p.m. Hunter recently performed in Nashville at Tootsie’s, The Bluebird Café, and Whiskey Bent Saloon. At 7:00 p.m. Singer/Songwriter, Charlie Hudgins, will perform. Charlie is a native of Heard County and is kicking off his Summer in the South Tour.
Watermelons and July just go together, so enter the watermelon-eating contest at 6:30 p.m. for a chance to win cash prizes. This contest is sponsored by Piggly Wiggly in Franklin.
SummerFest begins at 5:00 p.m. with fantastic fireworks over the Chattahoochee River beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m.
