Moviegoers will see a few changes to one of Newnan’s theaters after AMC Entertainment Holdings bought out Carmike Cinemas, a Georgia-based theater company.
A deal between the two movie companies was reached earlier this year while signage to the theater was recently changed to reflect the new brand.
AMC’s website notes the transition, saying, “We’re thrilled to announce that Carmike Cinemas (which includes Wynnsong, Muvico, Ovation, and Sundance Cinemas) is now part of the AMC Theatres family, and we’re so excited to start this new chapter together.”
Customers will notice few changes to the theater’s interior other than new soft-drink fountains in the theater’s lobby. Ticket screens read ‘AMC Classic’, which the company’s website describes as “These will be fun, friendly, local theatres that you can depend on for a great movie-going experience with value in mind. These theatres will include Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, menu items like pretzel bites and movie nachos, and refillable annual popcorn buckets.”
The website also states that ticket prices are not expected to change significantly.
