Three Central Students Receive National Merit Scholarship Commendations

Central High School is proud to announce Anna Handley, Kaitlyn Patterson, and Amelia Farmer have been named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented to each of the students by Principal Mr. Jared Griffis. “We are extremely proud of Anna, Kaitlyn, and Amelia; these girls are the best and brightest of the class of 2018,” said Mr. Jared Griffis. “This is the first time Central High School can boast of having three (3) students commended for the National Merit Scholarship honor.”

Approximately 34, 000 students, nationwide, are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students have placed among the top 50,000 scorers’ of the more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.
