At the Scoop Ice Cream is celebrating the start of their third year of business. Linda Kidney and her granddaughter Mariah own the ice cream parlor, and they would like to thank all of their customers for supporting their small, local business.
To do so, on Saturday, November 4 from 2-6 p.m. they are offering free face- painting, free hotdogs, and free popcorn while quantities last. Linda says to look for the pink tent in the parking lot of At the Scoop Ice Cream.
The Scoop, as it has become known, takes you back in time with its 1950s ice cream shop appeal, featuring locally homemade ice cream that can’t be bought in your local stores.
“Our ice cream comes from a local creamery that produces exceptionally high-quality ice cream,” says Linda. “I could buy commercial ice cream from name- brand companies at a much cheaper price, but it would not compare to the quality of our ice cream. We strive to be better. Just ask any of our banana split customers.”
Linda and Mariah always love seeing and hearing the reactions from customers once they have tasted the creamy, rich ice cream for the first time.
“You can see our many reviews on Facebook,” says Linda. “Follow us for specials and new flavor choices that become available every week.”
The delicious ice cream can be served on homemade waffle cones, which are made by Linda herself. The Scoop also serves homemade Belgian waffles that you can have with a sundae or an ice cream sandwich. These waffles are made fresh on the spot.
Pretzel-crusted brownies have become a must at The Scoop, and served with their vanilla bean ice cream, Linda says the combination is a special treat that all will enjoy. Linda also offers specially-flavored ice cream cakes, which are great for any occasion.
“Upon customer request, we have added all beef hotdogs to the menu,” says Linda. “Our special $3.99 is one hotdog, a bag of chips, and a can of soda. Get homemade chili for $1 extra. What a value!”
Visit Linda and Mariah at The Scoop, located at 64 Fairfield Road, before the entrance to Fairfield Plantation Resort in Villa Rica.
“Come get the scoop At the Scoop Ice Cream Shop,” says Linda. “It’s a fun place to visit.”
