Li Moni’s Soul Food Restaurant and Lounge is the perfect destination for local restaurant connoisseurs seeking a place to enjoy great food and drinks in a relaxing, mature atmosphere. The restaurant, located at 1022 Maple Street, is an establishment with a sophisticated environment unlike any other in the area.
“We wanted to create a place where people can relax and unwind with some good food and drinks that is a different atmosphere than some of the other places you’ll find in Carrollton,” says Monica Thomas, owner of Li Moni’s. “It’s a place where a more mature crowd can come in and enjoy themselves and have fun.”
Monica says the restaurant’s dining experience will feature soul food and Cajun inspired cuisine, that all can enjoy.
“In collaborating with our chef, he and I have created some great food selections, from seafood gumbo to curry chicken to stuffed fried catfish and braised beef ribs,” says Monica. “Of course we have the traditional soul food items like that of fried chicken, bbq spare ribs, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, etc. “Our chef has a background in fine dining and catering, and has relocated here in Carrollton from Miami, FL via the Bahamas. He specializes in all genres but has a flare for Cajun inspired cuisine.”
The restaurant offers dinner menu items Tuesday thru Thursday from 4pm – 10pm, lunch and dinner menu items Friday thru Sunday 11am – 10pm, closed on Mondays. Li Moni’s plans to have entertainment for guests featuring live bands, comedy, sip and paint and karaoke to name a few. Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas is coming in the New Year.
“We have lots of different things for people to enjoy, from the food and drinks to singing karaoke and business networking,” says Monica. “We are getting ready to upgrade our patio to add a cigar lounge.” and we are now currently preparing for our formal New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball, with a live band.
Monica says she is proud that Li Moni’s upholds a respectful reputation as a unique venue in Carrollton.
“We have a strict dress code, and we expect our guests to maintain a mature, respectful attitude while here,” says Monica. “
For those looking to watch sports game, or enjoy a casual game of pool, the restaurant also features TyStix Café. The café also serves lunch and dinner menu items daily from 11am – 10pm, except on Monday’s when doors open at 5pm to catch Monday night football during the football seasons.
“We have TyStix Café, which is a great place for folks to come in and watch the game, play some pool, or just hangout,” says Monica. “These are 9 foot slated pool tables. TyStix will also have entertainment with pool game tournaments, card games and things like that in the near future.”
