A new restaurant will soon be opening in the former location of Gwen’s Family Restaurant in Buchanan. James Gross, owner of La Trattoria in Carrollton, plans to open Christiano’s Italian Café by late January in the location at 3437 Business 27 in Buchanan.
“It’s going to be what I like to call an Italian-American kitchen,” said Gross. “The menu is going to have the classic Italian-style dishes, as well as some American food choices like burgers, chicken strips, and things like that.”
Gross said the restaurant building has been undergoing remodeling for the past two years and is close to being finished.
“We are two weeks away from the finish work being completed, so we are hoping to have it done before Christmas,” said Gross. “We’re really excited about it and hope to be open some time around the end of January.”
