Kay’s Jamaican Cuisine which prides themselves on “Irie (Good) Style Home Cooking, opened just a few weeks ago at 1048 Alabama Street. Mrs. Kay tells us her business started as a catering service and her friends kept telling her to open a restaurant. So with that, she opened a new Jamaican restaurant!
Some of the menu items include Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, and even steamed fish to order. Kay’s offers lunch specials from 10am – 2pm that are only $5 plus tax which includes a can of soda. UWG Students, First responders, and Veterans get 10% off. You can find the restaurant just east of the Dollar General near Brumbelow Road. Their hours are Monday – Thursday from 10am – 7pm and Friday & Saturday from 10am-9pm. Kay’s is closed on Sunday.
